Free On-Site Fort Myers Mold Inspections
Mold remediation is the process of repairing the areas in your home or business affected by mold. We repair your problem by removing all the mold and treating the area to prevent regrowth. iMold takes many steps to guarantee proper remediation.
We start by completing your free, on-site inspection. It is likely you have already identified mold growth by sight if you are thinking about calling us. Do not waste time worrying about possible mold in your home. If you suspect mold, let us play detective. We can tell on sight how severe your problem may be.
The inspection iMold completes is also a visual inspection. During the visual inspection, we will determine the severity of your mold problem. If you are seeing mold in your space, that means there is much more than you think there is. Mold spores are a natural occurrence that exists both inside and outside of your home. When the humidity is too high, mold spores thrive and start to multiply. This is what causes large scale mold growth within your Fort Myers home or office.
Third-Party Mold Assessment
If we determine that the problem is severe, we recommend the use of a third-party mold assessment company. We cover the cost for one of our trusted partners to come out and take air samples. A team member from a third party company will collect both indoor and outdoor samples. These samples are then sent to a lab for comparison and analysis. Results come back in 24-72 hours.
The spore counts from outside and inside your space matter. Let’s look at an example. If your spore count is higher inside than outside, you need remediation. Spore counts are per cubic meter. A severe case of mold is an indoor result of 600 spores per cubic meter or higher. Severe cases need more cleaning. This includes the treatment of upholstery, fabrics, walls, and all surfaces.

Our Mold Remediation Process
Our process varies from job to job. How many steps we take depends on the results from our inspection and the air quality tests. But most of what we do involves specialized cleaning with professional antimicrobial products.
Here is a simplified step by step process for a typical job with an elevated spore count.
- To begin, our trained mold remediation team contains the affected area. We build containments with thick plastic that does not allow spores through. This prevents further contamination throughout the home or office.
- Affected material is then removed from the contained area. Some examples of affected material can be drywall, vanities, tiles, or wood paneling. Demolition can be messy, but not with iMold. Our demo process is dust-free. We also remove affected materials from your site and bring it to an approved dump site.
- Once we have removed the affected material, we bring in our equipment. We use HEPA vacuums and antimicrobial solution to clean the affected area. Our HEPA vacuums are top of the line microbial vacuums. They effectively remove mold spores from surfaces.
- Finally, a third party mold assessment company completes a PRV. A PRV is a post-remediation verification. This includes another air sample test and visual inspection. Indoor spore counts must be lower than outside spore counts to pass. iMold always strives for an indoor spore count of zero. These second inspections after remediation are the final step in the process!
